The Village was buzzing with visitors from 8.30am onwards. With the weather set fine for the day,
many families, some with their dogs, came and walked the prepared route, in search of bargains in the
14 village yards and 4 table top open for business.
In the previous days, villagers had emptied their garages and stores of those ‘useful’ items that had been
stored for years or items that were no longer required.
Participants reported swift early business and declared to have enjoyed meeting, talking and doing a deal
with visitors. Some villagers not participating and encouraged by the success of the day were lamenting
a missed opportunity. Past residents of the village also came and renewed acquaintances, even to see
their former homes.
By the time 3.00pm came and the village had returned to normal there was a sense that “ a good day was
had by all”.
